how come you joined the company in 11/2010 and applied on 12/22/2010 ? my lawyer is in the 3rd week and finalizing job description. she says advertising takes 30 days, pwd takes 6 weeks, etc etc, and that it cannot be approved without atleast 90 days of prepwork.

IV action alert $50 per month recurring contribution drive.
Dear IV members,
IV has had its first big success this year and we should all be proud of what we can all do. We worked hard and left no stone unturned to get this relief for our members. During the last few days there has been some movement on the National Defense Authorization Act and work on DREAM and SKIL provisions. While we were fully focused on the 485 relief, we did not lose sight of the developments. We have built a positive momentum and have been getting positive signals from key lawmakers. It is now upto us how we can seize the opportunity and focus on the lobbying efforts on legislative front. After seeing the overwhelming support of our members we are also encouraged to move ahead with full steam and explore the possibility of our provisions in the upcoming legislative activities. We also need to explore any other future movement on legislative front. Please join us in this struggle by signing up for $50 or more per month recurring contributions. This minimum amount is important for us to accomplish the kind of results we all desire. Not a single penny has been reimbursed to him for his trips to DC, food and stay in DC or car rental in DC. He even risked his job and went to DC on unpaid leave at critical times because lobbying was important for getting our work done. We in the core team know this and when we see the kind of contributions we get from members, we feel disappointed that our efforts are not valued. When we started the $20 contributions people felt $20 was too high and wanted $10 per month or less. Everyone can apply until August 17, but in the August VB, all the categories are U, which means no one is current and who knows when that will change. When processing, theoretically RD it's important, but when you get to the stage of being approved, you'll actually be approved only if your PD will be current at that time. Don't count too much on any guidelines, because some people get approved in weeks,others in years. Good luck.

I thought the Background check and AP are independent of each other. Perhaps one of the gurus can confirm this.
Now I am worried too... man the surprises never end!
Does anybody know whether USCIS do background checking on AP application or not ? It seems for my case they are doing as the IO told me.

We are 6th year H1B, but we only have a PD date of 27th July 2006.
My son turns 21 on 13th January 2008. We have an I-140 pending since August 30th 2006, which is probably a good thing because I understand that it will help to "extend" my son's time, provided it is not denied. There is no valid reason why it should be, and we have not taken up Premium Processing for that very reason.
However, with this July Visa Bulletin fiasco, who knows how long it will be before our PD date will come up again (EB-3 ROW) and we can file the I-485
Thus, I am really interested in the outcome of your case and the CSPA draft you have come up with. I have registered with Expat's Voice, as per your request.

ICICI is best if you have short term trip and wants to finish paper work quick. Even you can do it while sitting here , Only thing you need to send a Power of attorney from here through Embassy.
If you have long term trip and somebody known within SBI/LIC. Then their terms and conditions are too good. No Pre-payment Penalty.
There are less paper work involved if you buy it from Builder or First sale. You should be careful while buying second sale or most of the people ask Black money first , even before starting the bank paper work.

Dude if you do not like something, why don't you start your own aggressive organization. You do not do squat on IV and only whined.
It is always an option for any one with in their org, but if his point is wrong, then IV core leadership should prove him that they are not sitting idle or moving very very slow.

I am hoping this is not a typo from the mumbai consulate and USCIS visa bulletin will reflect the same.
My priority date is April 06. Does this mean that there is a chance for me to get the GC now?
How much time does it usually take for USCIS to approve the application after the priority date is current in the bulletin?
And lastly, what are the chances of USCIS staying on this date for EB2-I and not retrogressing it back to some old date (after it issues 1 yr EAD to everyone !!)?
I have the same fear....so I want to see this on USCIS website before I start enjoying the mood! But if it is true.....I am very very happy !

You both are right. It is definitely not about quitting or winning, it is making the best decision in cognizance to your career and life goals. For some it might be fighting the EB cause, for some it might just be moving to Cananda or India. Either way, life is as such is supposed to be a rolling stone, most of the mass we carry is just a burden that comes in our way of experiencing true happiness and joy.
Did you ever hear the proverb "quitters never win" and winners never quit.
Quit here go to Canada and then face some problems there and then quit canada. And then you will become the rolling stone which gathers no mass. Your family will be sick of your shifting then and no stabilization will cause more issues.
A friend of mine told me this one evening when I was really frustrated and was planning to quit my dream on being an entrepreneur and here I am now, and I think where I am right now is for the reason that I didn't quit that day and finally my product was liked by a company and they bought the product and offered me a job as well and then one thing lead to another and now I am settled with what I always wanted to do ( kinda not 100%) but its ok.

I think you do have to change your ideas in this case. Its very simple we cannot do what you plan to do. Lobbying is the only way for us. Illegals did that because they did not anything to loose. We are not in that situation, GC would be nice to have else we can go home or another country and we can survive.
So instead of waisting our time in talking about this, we should try to add members and contribute. I know you are an active member but I am just telling.
first, I don't know what you mean by "Senior Member like you coming up with this idea". Seniority on this site I think is by how long the have been registered. Second, even if it means older members, what does age have to do with this idea?
I have already said that most IV members (clearly you are one) are opposed to this.
My thoughts happen to be different from yours, and I dont plan on changing my ideas anytime soon.
Of course for this to work there has to be a signficant number of participants, otherwise actually nothing is going to work. And even with significant participation, there are no guarantees: look at how many people called Sen Sessions, but still made no difference.
