My wife was on same boat as many students. Her H-1B petition had an rfe. RFE was later denied and we still have MTR. This year she got her H-1B approved without RFE. We did specify in application about previous year rejection.
Bottom line is there are no easy trends to observe. Luck seems to play a big role than anything else. Obviously, all the documents must be in good shape.

I applied for I485 like many others in July. I just heard my group may be spun off from its parent company and might be funded by VCs. Does this mean I cannot use my LC/I140? If/When I get my EAD will it be valid?

No big deal....It does not affect you as long as your job is still same. The new company will take over your labour and I140 and you should be fine

Hi
I have one question about the online AR-11 form.
In the online AR 11 form there is one field called Port of entry and there is drop down box which has many items to select the port of entry. This drop down box has two items related to my port of entry.
MA- BOSTON
MA- LOGAN Airport
Are these really two different airports?
I entered US in the Boston Logan Airport (international airport). Which entry I need to select?
MA-Boston

MA- Logan Airport

i recently got H1 Extension stamping ( Till 2011 ) and also have AP Expires in Nov 2008 .
I am working on H1 and not interested to use EAD .Do i still need to renew my EAD and AP?

just a tip not cool to hijack someone else' thread. on your question: If you are planning on being with the H1 sponsoring employer for the next few years no point renewing your EAD or AP. However they are two seperate filings. You don't need to have a valid EAD in order to apply for an AP renewal or vice versa. Hope this helps.

So I am in the process of the renewing EAD & Applying for AP for the first time.

do you get Finger Printing for EAD Renewal ?
do you get Finger Printing / Biometrics for first time applying of AP [Advance Parole]

My VISA stamped expired long back. I have valid H1 extension and my I94 is valid till October 30 2007. I am in the process of 8 th year H1 extension. Do I need to revalidate my visa to apply I � 485?
